Children who breathe second-hand smoke are more likely to develop asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis or other respiratory issues.
Any child can benefit from the camaraderie and self-worth gained by playing a team sport. Supporting your child by showing interest and attending their games, can help create lasting memories, and build positive skills that will last throughout their life.
Do not use negative words when scolding your child. These words will not correct his behavior but it will take a toll on his self-esteem. You should instead focus on using positive, encouraging words to elicit the desired behavior.

Children want independence and they want to help. You can build their confidence by allowing them to help you with household chores. Have your child help you unload the dishwasher. When taking your children on an outdoor excursion, make all your plans in advance. Setting aside time to enjoy the great outdoors with your family teaches your kids two important lessons; that it’s good to enjoy nature and that nothing’s more important than family.
Mix your child’s medicine with something sweet before you administer it to them. Put a little sugar in the medication, or mix it with orange juice. If eye drops are needed, the easiest method is to have the child close their eyes, then put the drops on top of their eyelid. The drop then falls into their eye, without having to prop their eye open.
Coaxing children out of inappropriate behavior is usually a matter of positive reinforcement. Some children don’t have the ability to be able to express themselves in a way that they would like, and are trying to cope with many emotional issues. If you encourage communication, you will help your children express their feelings.
Stay with the same routine at night to get your child ready for bed. Routines will help children to change over to a sleeping mindset. As he moves through the various stages of the routine, getting into pajamas, brushing teeth and bedtime stories, he will feel comfortable and ready for sleep. When the child knows the sequence of events, then there will be less fighting and resistance.
