Halloween Kid Games – Keep The Kids Busy
Sometimes you may feel that keeping kids entertaind is a difficult task. No worry! Here you can read about great Halloween Kid Games. You will see that you can keep your kids entertained during Halloween party.
1. Ghost Poop Race (for children 2 – 4 years old)
This game is a relay race to see which team can transfer their “Ghost Poop” to their bowl at the finish line. You could do the game inside or outside.
What you will need:
- white packaging peanuts
- 2 large spoons
- 4 large bowls
- masking tape
Most kids aren’t going to be able to run because the packing peanuts will float away if they go too fast…its a great way to teach them to walk quickly without running.
These instructions are for 2 teams with approximately 5 students on each team, you may need to make adjustments to fit the size of group you have.
Instructions:
First step is to mark a starting line, put a strip of masking tape on the spot where the kids are to start. It may be helpful to make a mark with the tape at the finish line where the bowl will set, with my experience some of the kids kicked the bowl so with a mark they will know quickly where to put the bowl again.
Second step. Put a bowl at the start line and the finish line for each team, we used ice cream buckets.
Third step. Fill the 2 starting line buckets with packing peanuts and lay a spoon next to or in each bowl.
When you start, the first child on each team will pick up one peanut and place it on their spoon, they will carefully walk their peanut to the finish line, they are not to hold the peanut on the spoon, if they do drop it then they may use their hand to pick it up and put it back on the spoon and continue on. Once they get to the finish line they are to drop the peanut in their bucket and walk back to their team. That child will give the spoon to the next person in line and the first child will go to the back of the line
Option 1: Give each team 5 minutes to get as many peanuts to their other bucket. Whichever team gets the most wins.
Option 2: Give each team the same number of peanuts to start with and whoever transfers their peanuts the quickest wins.
Variations:
- Use different types of spoons
- Have more than 2 teams
- Children can walk backwards
- Have both teams line up between the start and finish lines and give each child a spoon and have them pass the peanuts down the line
- Put masking tape on a line from start to finish and have children walk on the line while carrying their peanut
- Tell children they aren’t to touch peanut at all, they are to scoop up the peanut and if they drop it they are to pick up the fallen peanut with the spoon.
- If the child drops the peanut they have to return to the starting line and start over again.
- For older children, blindfold the child then she has to rely on her team telling her which way to go. This could get interesting with more than one team.
