A handy hint for applying eye drops is to place the drop on your child’s eyelid while their eyes are closed. The drop will go right into the eye when the child opens his or her eyes once more.

After adopting a child, be prepared for answering questions eventually. Most adopted children want to know where it is they came from at one point or another, so make sure you are someone they can turn to. Avoid telling lies as this can cause resentment on your child’s part and might distance your relationship with them.

When you add children to the family, make sure that you put looking after you towards the top of the list. Find time every day to relax and re-energize, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Your children will benefit from your improved happiness.

Children want to be useful, to belong, and to have a sense of autonomy. When you provide them with household chores to do while you do your chores, you help them attain these goals. Even very small children can take on one small part of a more complicated task, such as sorting silverware when you empty the dishwasher. When you are folding clothes, have your little one help you by sorting out a load of socks. Small tasks help them feel like they’ve being independent, and they’ll be helping you out at the same time.
